Family Outing: Skatepark, Zoo and Road Trip
Wanderlust. I have the disease. I need to go - even if it’s just to leave the house to drive an hour to the skateboard park. It works.

The past week I’ve heard the kids use phrases like “at least it got us out of the house”. I thought I was the only one thinking that ;). I haven’t decided if it’s cloudy, cold winter or Covid limitations, but I know four kids who are (mostly content) to just drive somewhere and listen to an audiobook for a couple of hours.

Read some books at breakfast while the science fair bacteria was checked. The big kid did a bit of schoolwork at the park. Walked around the little zoo and watched the otters, eagles, and bears. In the car, we finished Greenglass House, sang along to Mamma Mia, and listened and sang the Gettysburg address. Talked about the map. Strategized how to spend our time and worked on scooter skills... and now they’re finishing up a few math sheets before creating their Minecraft worlds together.

And spent the day together.

.
And got out of the house.

It might not seem like we did a lot of “schoolwork”, but at the same time, sounds like we did a lot of life. And that still counts! ;)
