Family Embracing Nature and Learning Languages
New favorite reason to travel with kids? Language!🇨🇷✈️🌍
{Scroll through to see my 2nd favorite reason!}
My kids cared nothing about Spanish despite their fluent mom, despite all the books, despite all the programs…
❗️Until…
She saw the need for Spanish on the Honduras mission trip and came back wanting to go to Spanish class. The other three didn’t care…
❗️Until…
They saw the need on our family trip to Costa Rica. Our naturalist tour guide Bryan led us through Tenorio Volcano National Park and found us sloths. He even took us to an unplanned tubing adventure down Rio Celeste. @bryan_mntoya (Contact him!)
The key?
Bryan told my kids that he taught himself English through DuoLingo and is now learning German and French to talk with tourists.
🔑Because he said your can learn anything now with the internet.
🔑Because my kids (obviously) listen to a stranger more than their mother. 😜
And my most argumentative child has now done DuoLingo every day since our trip, wants to go with us to Honduras (not happening), and now he sees the reason for learning Spanish.
What I’m saying is:
1️⃣Your kids need to see the reason to want to learn it.
2️⃣Get a naturalist to really see animals on your Costa Rica trip.
3️⃣DuoLingo is now a family favorite and we have six people learning languages for fun!
🤫We love DuoLingo but there are some things you should know. DM me and I’ll tell you our experience.
Grazie! Gracias! Merci beaucoup.
