Family Adventure at Mammoth Cave

Did you know that Mammoth Cave is the wold's longest cave at more than 400 miles in length? Now you do! We commented on all the people with cars from Michigan only to realize that we are really closer to Michigan than Texas! Crazy. We got to ride a school bus to the cave entrance so that was Katie's favorite part of course. 500+ steps squeezing through cracks with a baby strapped on the front- I'm amazed Hunter made it out intact. My knee on the other hand for quite a banging with the maneuvering. Our second cave this year after going to San Antonio in the spring and very different. More of this was just limestone without the drip formations. Meg was very excited when we got out to show Cooer all the limestone on the mountain. Guess she might have been learning something. Good museum and nice place. Cave crickets, eyeless fish, and an experience of complete darkness.
