Reclaiming Wonders

Exploring Edinburgh Castle

#edinburghcastle Two castles in two days. We got the headsets at the request of the big kids.. who barely used them... which caused drama with the little kids.. who wanted one... We saw cool views of the city, another wall to make Mom nervous about, and a big chapel-monument to all the Scots who have died in the wars. Seeing books and books of their names listed, comparing the sizes of books based on the time period... It’s impressive that they have built such a building solely for that purpose and maintain the dignity by not allowing pictures and requesting silence. The Scottish crown and Stone of Destiny are held here along with the stories of its history and hiding during WW2 and rediscovery in the 1800s. I don’t remember seeing all that last time. Pictures not allowed, again. Returning to places has been enlightening to me because I see Part’s I missed. With new eyes and understanding. It hasn’t been as redundant as I thought.
