Exploring Civil Rights History in Atlanta
Civil Rights study should start at home, right? We finally stopped by the Martin Luther King, Jr. sites in downtown Atlanta.
.
It’s so easy to take the familiar for granted and only go see the important sites on vacation. So today we made the detour. We walked past Dr. and Mrs. King’s gravestones, the Ebenezer Baptist Church that his family preached at for generations, and his childhood home right down the road.
.
We’re headed through Memphis next week… Maybe the Lorraine Hotel will have even more significance now.
.
I’d love some more Civil Rights and history recommendations for our Southern road trips if you have any. So much history to learn and this is definitely my favorite way!
