Exploring Biblical Context: A Deeper Approach
Passover. Here it is another year. I keep telling myself I’m going to dive into Jewish history more… and I keep getting distracted by life. 🤷♀️
If you know me IRL (especially if you’re in my group at church😉), you’re tired of hearing all the aha moments I’ve had from the BEMA podcast. Now Marty Solomon has written this book so more people can take in his deeper approach to theology.
As a Christian diving into his Jewish heritage, Marty brings in the teaching he learned from others and his multiple trips to the Holy Land to shows you how to dive deeper into your Bible reading to make the same connections yourself. He has truly opened my eyes to so much that I have never considered.
If we want to more fully understand Christianity, we have to understand the world of Jesus and the
.
history of His people. As he says, “… the inspired meaning on the Text lies in the original conversation between author and audience.” Later, he quotes, “We have forgotten that we read the bible as foreigners, as visitors who have traveled no only to a new geography, but to a new century.”
Ever thought of it like that?
🔹If you love history.
🔹If you want to understand context better.
🔹If you find things in your Bible that don’t make sense…
There may be a reason.
❤️It’s all about the part we don’t understand… YET!

But be prepared to go off on a deep dive.
It’s truly the best Biblical learning I’ve ever experienced.
👉👉Dive in. I’d love to give you details about the podcast. It’s so fascinating.
😁And remember, all cool moms read theology books at the skateboard park.
