Appreciating a Dryer After Weeks Without One
This may just look like a pile of laundry, but to me, it the first time I’ve had a dryer in three weeks.
We didn’t know this was standard until we got to Scotland. All the apartments had tiny washers in the kitchen ... one had a dryer setting on the tiny washer but would only do half of the tiny load dry and only if you ran it through twice. So for three weeks, I had wet clothes strewn about. Sometimes on a drying rack if they had one. I never knew I’d be excited about a drying rack!
Ps: When you book an Airbnb, don’t assume that by clicking washer, you automatically get a dryer. Rookie mistake. And bring clothes pins when you travel... For those of you who travel often, is this standard throughout all of Europe?
