Developing Patience as a Parent
“I just don’t have the patience.”
How many times have you heard this when someone finds out that you have kids? Or homeschool? Or take the whole family on long trips?😏
Guess what?
👉I don’t have patience either.
But I’m working on it.
Still.
Nine years into homeschooling.
Fifteen years unto parenting.
Its a never-ending process.
It’s a constant choice...
🔹To take the time to listen and answer all… the… questions.
🔹To allow twice as much time to bake the cookies.
🔹To allow another break mid-math lesson.
🔹To go at a slower pace on vacation.
🔹To let them wander off the path to play and explore.
🔹To put aside me.
Afterall, doesn’t God tell us to slow down? Be still? Be patient?
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14🕊❤️
Maybe those kids are here to refine us and make us learn that patience…
👉Share this with a friend who needs the encouragement today.
❤️And save it to send it back to me tomorrow…. and in the many days to come. 😀
