Cooper's Workshop at Edinburgh's People's Museum

#peoplesmuseum in #edinburgh was a free quick drop in after lunch to learn about the average people of the last several hundred years instead of just royalty. An interesting perspective. Cooper learned about making barrels... aka being a cooper. They had charts comparing how many people did such jobs, how it changed over time, men vs women. It said at one point 60% of working women were in domestic service! I hope the kids got something out of it... The museum was a little dated and needs some tweaking to make kids interested, but a good constrast to the wealth we’ve been exploring in the castles.
