Pandas Leased from China, Visit Them Soon!

Bet you don’t know this! Did you know the pandas are leased to the United States from China? The US pays a yearly rental, and China can decide when to take them back. 🐼 There are only three zoos in United States with panda exhibits: Memphis, DC, and Atlanta. The pandas in DC are schedules to return to China at the end of 2023, so you gotta go soon! And those of you in Atlanta… What’s your excuse? Go watch them eat their bamboo cigars. They pull off the leaves with their mouths until they have enough, twist it into a cigar shape with their hand and mouth, and eat the bundle from the end. So cool! The zookeeper told us that they also are very picky about their bamboo and that individual tastes change from day to day.
