Reclaiming Wonders
A family portrait consisting of two adults and four children posing together. The adults, a man wearing glasses, a plaid shirt, and jeans, and a woman wearing glasses, a grey sweater, and a scarf, are standing behind the children. The children are three boys and one girl. The girl is wearing a striped shirt and appears to be the oldest of the children. One boy is wearing an orange shirt, another is wearing a blue and white patterned shirt, and the youngest boy is wearing jeans. They are all smiling happily at the camera in what seems to be an indoor setting with a wooden wall behind them. The family appears to be celebrating a special occasion or milestone, given their joyful expressions and attire.

Choosing Jesus First as Parents

Two of mine were baptized at church today. šŸ˜ It was a great day. And a good reminder to me of what weā€™re truly here for as parents. . . Iā€™m tired. Youā€™re tired. We question ourselves daily. Are we doing the best? The right thing for us and the kids? We hear that homeschooling wonā€™t save your children. That you canā€™t protect them completely no matter what path you choose for school or location or work or or or. But... . . But I have become ever more grateful that we have time together. Time to start morning time around the table with Bible reading and prayer. Time for my boy to proudly announce to me how many pages of his Bible he read before getting out of bed. Time for Jesus, each other, and beautiful books - a combo that makes the day feel accomplished no matter what else gets done that day. . . We may not have touched a math book. We may have spent the rest of the day roaming outside. But we made time for what was important first. And I need every reminder I can get to put our Jesus learning first... no matter what pressures I feel telling me what should be put first or what ā€œshouldā€ be done. . . Hereā€™s to you working parent, single parent, parent of one, parent of many... Spend the time you do have available choosing the important. And if you donā€™t have that time, get rid of the unimportant. And letā€™s build each other up to help us all refocus our vision. . . Hereā€™s to pointing ourselves and our kids in the right direction every step of the way. One baby step at a time. šŸ™Œ
