Children's Book Brings History to Life

Needed: More good living picture books to read before trips. This prep a week ago at home made Appomattox real and the McLeans a real family and the horse hair couch a real place with a real doll. . . This book taught us all this. When we looked in the house, we saw the room where the doll witnessed the surrender of Lee to Grant. Asked good questions. And thought about it. . . I’m so thankful for this book. Made our whole experience so much better. . . PS: Appomattox Court House is the town’s name. It wasn’t signed in the courthouse but this family home. Mind blown.
