Back From Honduras: Simplicity vs Excess

First day back home from Honduras - it’s like the usual annoyance of coming home to the excess of life… but times ten. I’ve been reliving all day the last several seasons of Lost ✈️✈️- I can’t easily describe the last week to people who weren’t there with me and I want to kill everyone else 😂 . All we needed was in one bag… Now, all the unnecessary everywhere is a hard adjustment and a continuous reminder of all the stupid stuff we pour our money and concern and time into. Phone use as a big example. . I’ve been surrounded by teammates with slightly dirty clothes and cold showers who still had a smile. Hondurans who sometimes have so little but give freely with love - and trust in God for the rest. And now, the comparison and the striving to look the best, have the best, and be the best. It’s tiring. . Now, I’m off to put up half my clothes so they don’t remind me of the waste every time I open my closet. Ug. . And to those of you who were “on the island” with me (or who can relate), help me get out of my funk 😉
