Tips for Visiting The Enchantments in Washington

Are you visiting The Enchantments in Washington this summer? Here are some things I learned from going last June: šŸ  Lodging nearby fills up fast, and prices go up quickly. If you’re planning your summer trips already like me, book early šŸŽ« You need to register for a permit at the trailhead, even for day hiking šŸ•ļø Overnight permits can be secured beforehand, but the lottery is competitive. There’s a daily permit lottery. Arrive at the Wenatchee River Ranger Station at 8am & they draw for permits at 8:30am if you’re willing to pivot should you not get it Ty @erinphippstravels for the info! 🦟 There are TONS of mosquitos šŸæļø The chipmunks are… brave. One crawled in my backpack while we were jumping in the lake šŸ¦… We also saw a bald eagle and a mountain goat 🄶 Colchuck lake’s water is COLD, but I’m sure you’ll want to jump in so bring a towel šŸ¤Leavenworth (the nearby town) is ADORABLE and I wish we would’ve spent more time there. It’s mimics a traditional Bavarian Village and there are so many cute shops and restaurants. Are you planning a trip to Washington this summer? Portraits of me by @dashaslens
