Nikki Tomlin
A young woman twirls gracefully, her long hair flowing behind her as she spins. She wears a striking red dress that billows out around her, creating a captivating silhouette against the vivid blue sky. The dress appears lightweight and flowing, perfectly suited for her dance-like movements. The scene takes place in a vast, desolate landscape of white salt flats, stretching out endlessly in all directions. The bright white ground reflects the sunlight, creating a stark contrast with the deep blue sky overhead. In the distance, hazy mountains loom, adding depth and grandeur to the already breathtaking vista. The image exudes a sense of freedom, movement, and the joy of self-expression in a serene, untamed natural setting.

Dancing on the Salt Flats

📍 Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah I posted some of these shots in my stories a few months ago and a friend said “post these again!” So here we are. I had a much smaller audience and this was probably my first cross country road trip where I planned stops along the way to explore places I’ve always want to see. One of them being the salt flats in Utah! I had no idea what to really expect but I spent 24 hours on the flats playing with the light, the blank canvas, and stargazing. It’s still one of the top places I tell people to go to when visiting Utah! It’s also crazy to think about how far I’ve come since taking these photos. My business has grown, my style has changed (although I still dream about pretty outfits in vast landscapes so this might be making more of a comeback), the way I travel has evolved to be pretty efficient, and I’m somehow more spontaneous than I was then. Do me a favor and scroll back to a year ago today in your camera roll and remind yourself of how far you’ve come and how much possibility lives in the next year! Who was here for these when they were first posted? 🙋🏼‍♀️
