Embracing Self-Confidence in Portrait Photography

How to get comfortable showing your face in photos šŸ‘‡šŸ» (Save this post for your next portrait sesh āœØ) First things first, accept that you are the way you are in the moment youā€™re taking photos! We all get wrapped up in how we should look based on others but accepting who you are face, body, and soul is whatā€™s going to make all the difference. Second, physically wiggle around, jump up and down, and take a next level deep breath and let it out through your mouth. When Iā€™m feeling stiff, nervous, or awkward I do this and immediately look at the camera for that soft but serious look. When Iā€™m photographing others and see they are feeling a tad uncomfortable I ask them to do this and 99% of the time it works flawlessly! And lastly, get in front of the mirror! Yea its weird and sometimes doesnā€™t end well (make sure to be in a good headspace first) but the more you figure out what angles and expressions you like of yourself the better youā€™re going to feel with the results. Bonus Tip: HAVE FUN WITH IT! Most of my favorite images of myself and the people Iā€™ve photographed are the ones where we were having a next level amount of fun with the camera. Let the love you have for photography help you capture the love you feel and I promise the images will turn out great! Are you afraid to show your face to the camera or have you conquered that fear? šŸ“ø @sonyalpha A7II @tamronusa 28-200mm edited using @lightroom
