Readjusting to Public Life after Isolation
You know what’s weird?
Being around people again!
I have been struggling here in London. I have a constant fear that someone is going to steal my stuff. I feel like people can look me in the eyes and tell I’m not from here, so again they are going to steal my stuff or follow me to my hotel to steal my stuff. And I also am pretty cautious to even move at all because I’m scared to embarrass myself walking.
I know this isn’t because any of those things are actually going to happen or are happening (obviously be aware because they can) but because I have not truly traveled, been in unfamiliar public places, or had to navigate a public transportation system in TWO YEARS!
Everything I’ve done for the last two years has been done in a way that was meant to avoid all people. There are still precautions here and people really do follow them but it’s still more people than I’ve seen in quite some time.
Therefore, doing my job and making content has been HARD! I’m literally working through problems I’ve already dealt with all over again.
All this being said, take your time coming back out into the world. Do what YOU need to do to be comfortable out here.
Have you started traveling again? If so, how are you feeling about it?
