Moab Hiking Guide: Exploring the Desert Landscapes

Moab, UT hiking guide! ✨ (Be sure to hit that save button so you have this info for later!) It’s no secret that Moab sits between two EPIC national parks (I’ll give recs for them later so keep your eyes peeled!) but y’all there is SO much beautiful nature around Moab to explore too! So here is a list of my favorite hikes and areas to explore! Be sure to practice LNT! 🏜 Corona and Bowtie Arch-easily one of my favorite sets of arches in this part of the desert and an epic place to watch the sunset! 🏜 Mill Creek Trail-I haven’t hiked this trail in the winter or off season but it’s a perfect summer hike with loads of water crossings and a beautiful waterfall! 🏜 Moonflower Canyon Trail-this is a quick and very easy walk into a quiet little canyon with some petroglyphs at the start. This would be a good midday trail to avoid the sun in the summer! 🏜State highway 279-I have yet to hike a trailhead off this highway and not find something epic! However, be aware that the road eventually turns into and off road vehicle trail and enters Canyonlands National Park and there are no services until you’re back in Moab! 🏜Scenic Byway or highway 128-A lot like the above highway I have yet to find a less then epic trail at pull offs along this road! And if you’re coming into Moab from Denver or the north and you can take this highway, do it! It’s such a beautiful drive! To my knowledge all of these area are dog friendly (Corona arch has a small ladder to climb but I’ve seen dogs somehow get up there 🤷🏼‍♀️) but keep in mind the heat of the summer when bringing your doggos to the desert.
