Capturing the Northern Lights Spectacle

What a photo flop 🫠 You could say that if you want but considering I had never shot the northern lights and my camera died six shots in, I’m counting these as a win! I had pictured my whole experience photographing the northern lights to be wildly different and perfect and to result in these next level shots but the entire night was a surprise. I happened to check the forecast at 11pm and saw it was at storm level, called my bestie, and raced out of town and caught the best northern lights show in South Dakota in 6 years! Moral of the story is to send it on those last minute adventures and be happy to practice your craft and learn at every expected and unexpected turn!
