A woman with long dark hair stands on a sandy beach, her body turned sideways as she gazes into the distance with one hand shielding her eyes from the sun. She wears a vibrant orange and green floral print dress that flows loosely around her figure. The dress has thin straps and falls above her knees, leaving her legs and feet bare on the sand. Behind her, the ocean stretches out with rolling waves crashing onto the shore. A few people can be seen walking along the beach further away. The sky is slightly overcast, creating a hazy background for the scene.

Travel During the Pandemic

Somehow I made it to the beach this year. Should I have gone during a pandemic? Absolutely not. Now let me tell you why. - This trip was supposed to be a bachelorette trip for a friend and she cancelled for damn good reasons. I didn’t refund or cancel my flight because another one of my best friends @kelsterbooger lives in #Florida and it had been so long since we had seen each other I thought “hey why not go and surprise her?” (@denisoncody thanks for the killer assist on that btw😁) - I had not travelled since the pandemic hit aside from leaving South Dakota and coming back to Denver. Denver was being so strict at the time I just kind of figured everyone was being very cautious or at least enough that traveling is safe. - The airport. There were signs everywhere and I received SO MANY emails telling me a mask is required the second you enter the airport and that social distancing is being enforced. Checking my bag and going through security gave me a little bit of comfort because from what I could see everything was following the guidelines I was emailed so many times. Once I was through security it was madness. I was carrying disinfectant wipes and sanitizing so much and the amount of groups of people I saw with no masks whatsoever was CRAZY! Once on the plane almost everyone stuck with the mask requirement. However, the airline handed out prepackaged snack packs and everyone was allowed to take their masks off all at once to eat. Doesn’t that seem a little counterintuitive? - Once in Florida there were even more people who just didn’t care. And because it was like a vacation it was so easy to go with the flow of the locals. Thankfully, it was pretty stormy the entire time I was there and hardly anyone wanted to be at the beach and that’s all I wanted to do, so I safely socially distanced myself at the beach. - I will be uploading a video to my YouTube channel with information on traveling during this pandemic centered around this trip to Florida.
