The Source of Overwhelm

The reason you’re overwhelmed is not what you think. Its a tale as old as time… the desire to be our own God. God has 3 main characteristics: omnipresence (He is everywhere), omniscience (He knows everything), and omnipotence (He is in total control). When you really think about it, the source of our overwhelm is ultimately because of our desire to be like God without actually being God. Here’s what I mean… Omnipresence - anyone can contact you at any time and in various different ways. You are no longer bound to the traditional communication barrier of location. So much of our overwhelm comes from the constant feeling of the need to maintain 100s or even sometimes 1000s of relationships at once. Omniscience - you have the ability to search any answer in seconds. (Im a chronic googler) which is great for a lot of things but we live in a world with so much useless information. What your friend ate for dinner last night, what happened across the world this morning, what some celebrity wore to a party you don’t need to care about. The list goes on. Omnipotence - we try to do everything at once. Productivity is the idol and we measure our days success by how many things we accomplished. Turns out it’s really hard to play God when you aren’t. So instead of medicating your overwhelm with more of what causes it, give it to God and you will find peace. Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 • • • • • #hawaii #freediving #freedive #bestintravel #kings_shots #tidepool #travelandleisure #beautifuldeatinations #hawaiistagram #hawaiiphotographer
