Social Media: The Curated Reality
Is reality ever what it seems? -
Isn’t it strange that we’re living in a time where everyone can produce their own reality show if they want? You no longer have to have a producer tell you what to do, you can just do it with your phone. -
It’s awesome but it’s dangerous. It’s so easy to present a completely fake life online and become something you’re not. It happens all the time and the tough part is, we compare our REAL life with what we see to be “real” online. The online version of “real” 9 times out of 10 is a highly curated and produced version of what’s actually happening. -
We aspire to build our reality off a delusional dream world and become discouraged or even depressed when it doesn’t line up. -
Can I just say this, reality TV is a terrible business. Social media by in large is just a big flex off where everyone is trying to show that they are having more fun than you. The entire goal is to get engagements from people validating what you just posted to make you feel better about yourself. -
But what happens when no one likes you anymore, when people aren’t interested, when the “ratings” fall. If you judge your worth on people’s opinions, then that’s tragic for you, but if you base them off of your intrinsic God given value, you’ll realize that the fake accolades the world gives, are nothing in comparison to what God gives. -
Stop playing the comparison game. It only leads to self destruction. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 - •
