Pursuing Your Passion Despite Friction
When you go against the grain you will meet friction.
It’s an inevitable law of life. When you step outside the norm to follow your passion people will doubt you, people will question you, people will make you doubt if what you’re doing is truly what God has for you. But people don’t decide your destiny unless you let them!
It’s tempting to look at the social media highlight reel and think “that looks like the good life” or “that looks like it’s easy” let me just tell you that it’s not. If you are going to pursue your dreams, you will work harder and longer than almost any job you can have. And if you’re not careful the people around you will make you doubt if it’s worth it to keep going.
Travel gurus will sell the travel lifestyle as “the dream” and in a lot of ways it is but it’s also extremely hard work. Waking up for sunrises, late nights of editing, managing your marketing, sales, branding, shooting, team and making sure you still have time to rest. It’s not as easy as it looks but it’s 100% worth it!
I got into this not cause I wanted to be famous or make tons of money, but because I wanted to shoot and tell inspiring stories. It happened to morph into what I do today during this season, but my motivation has always been to inspire (scroll back on my IG and you’ll see).
When you have a strong enough why, the friction, although it will hurt, won’t completely stop you. And when you surround yourself with the right people, instead of sliding on sandpaper you can slide on a greased runway. Don’t let the haters get to you. You know the vision now go execute!
Work like it depends on you and pray like it depends on God!
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
