From Struggling Photographer to Successful Creator

To be clear I was there. 🎥 I went to film school. 💸 I had invested over $10k into camera gear. 😎 I knew how to shoot quality content. 🚀 In fact I even grew my social media page to over 50k at the time. On the outside, I was a successful photographer, but in reality I was barely scraping by. I was paying travel expenses out of pocket to take “free exchange stays” to hopefully fake it till I made it. And I almost faked myself out of a job while complaining that brands don’t want to pay me 💀 But it was at that moment that I realized I had 2 choices. 1️⃣ Convince myself that I’m justified to play the victim card. Then inevitably have to get some other job because I had to pay my bills and live with regrets. 2️⃣ Get over my fear of talking to prospects and learn high value skills like marketing, sales, and team building. Obviously I chose the later. But I’ll be honest I delayed that decision for MONTHS because I was petrified. And when I finally did dive in, what I feared would happen actually did. I got rejected… a lot. But I also learned that it’s just part of the game and even the top creators in the world face it too. I learned that brands don’t pay for content, they pay for what that content will do for them, so I committed myself to building an offer designed to get client results. I learned that marketing managers are just people and discovery calls are just telling stories. I learned that caring about the clients results more than they do actually makes them want to work with you more LOL And guess what happened? Since making this drastic shift in my business I went from dead broke to working on 5 figure projects with top travel brands around the world. Now they’re paying to fly me out, not the other way around. And the best part is I’ve been able to help other talented creators do the exact same and quite literally change their lives.
