How to Respond to 'You're Too Expensive'

How to respond to “you’re too expensive” 💀 Before I get into the exact response be sure to save this video and follow @nashhagen for more creative business tips. Ok so here’s the situation… You just pitched your heart out. You know you’d be a great fit for this prospect You’re practically planning the shoot already. You ask if they have any more questions and they say, “yeah how much is this all gonna cost.” Your heart skips a beat. You take a mental deep breath and you say the most reasonable number that you’d be willing to take. There’s an awkward pause. You’re secretly sweating. Then the client finally says. “Is there anyway we could come down on that price” Instead of giving a discount for no reason, here’s what you do… 1️⃣ Clarify if it’s a true financial objection In many cases it’s just the client trying to get a deal. You need to confirm if the client values what you’re offering and just needs help making it work financially or if there’s some other underlying reason they don’t want to move forward which usually boils down to a lack of trust. 2️⃣ Isolate the real objection Once you know the real objection you can talk the prospect through it. Ex. They say it’s too expensive but they’re more concerned that it won’t work for them and they won’t get a return on investment. Show empathy and understanding for the concern. 3️⃣ Reframe their belief. Sales is all about transferring conviction. You believe your content will help them accomplish whatever their goal is so you need to help them believe that as well so that they move forward with you. In our previous example the prospect believes they won’t get an ROI so you can show examples of previous clients you’ve worked with who’ve more than made their money back to help solidify a new belief. 4️⃣ Ask for commitment. This is either a followup call or the sale. In some cases you may have to circle back multiple times to handle different objections, but always end at asking for commitment. 🚀 If you want the exact script you can say to a client + 2 other objection handles, comment “SCRIPT” and I’ll send it over! Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
