Easter Symbolism: Serpent on a Pole

Happy Easter he is risen! - Ok you’re gonna wanna read this cause this is mind blowing 🤯 Swipe to the right and tell me if that symbol looks familiar. That is a Nehushtan or “bronze serpent” When the Israelites were wondering through the desert and dying from bites of venomous snakes, God told Moses to make a serpent out of brass and suspend it on a pole. Whenever a dying Israelite looked at it they would be healed. Wait what does this have to do with Easter and I thought snakes were supposed to be evil, darkness, lies, and satan? We’ll here’s the crazy part, when you look at the Nehushtan, it’s the shape of a cross. It’s another early foreshadowing to Christs ultimate victory over death. The serpent may have won for a day, but Jesus won the war over death, evil, and sin and by looking to him and believing in his redemptive power, you will be healed. Today is the day we celebrate Jesus’ ultimate and final victory over sin and transformation from death into eternal life! Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 • • • • • •
