Children's Dreams of Greatness and Selfless Service
Isn’t it interesting how children only aspire to greatness? -
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a kid say he wants to come in 5th at the olympics, or copy papers for a living. No it’s always, “I want to win gold”, or “I want to own the company.” I wonder if it’s because humans have a instinctive trait to imagine a future better than what is currently attainable. -
This trait is distinctly human. Bees don’t think about building hives, they just do it, but humans have choice and the ability to foresee what we are doing and how it will affect our future. -
I think at some point along the way we fail to realize that greatness is a byproduct of serving someone or something else. We see greatness as personal advancement and as a result skew our priorities. -
See if you view wealth as greatness, then you will take the boring unfulfilling job because it pays well, or if you view fame as greatness you may be more willing to tear people down in your rise. Or if you view your relationships as greatness, you will begin to idolize the people you’re around in an unhealthy way. But if you view service as greatness, you will be rewarded 10 fold. -
Let’s build a future, not for ourselves, because we don’t have to. But to the prosperity of the city and people around us. Because if they prosper we will prosper. It’s The way Gods math works. -
Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙
