Summit Selfie at Vesper Peak

Finally got to answer the call of the mountains at vesper peak! Great practice backpacking run to train for the wonderland trail in a couple weeks. Interesting/unique things that happened: -When filming a goat from afar, he seemed upset and started making charging motions with his hooves (we were on a completely separate shelf at least 20 yards away) - the side of my mountain house dinner broke before cooking it. Was a first. Duct tape for the win again! Was surprised it worked like a charm - my trusty big Agnes tent zipper quit after YEARS of providing shelter around some of the most unique, rugged and remote terrain in the west. I slept with the zipper open in HIGH MOSQUITO territory and somehow managed to sustain only 2 bites. That’s a win for o+ blood! Time to get another of the exact same brand - was so reliable even after I was so rough on her for years camping higher than average Feeling ready for PNW RONDY next weekend canyoneering around WA and 9 nights on the wonderland trail the weekend after next!
