Remote Work & Travel: Balancing Adventure with Business
For years I’ve done remote consulting for hotels and airbnbs after a 20 year career in corporate hospitality and travel sales. Location independence also allows me to create content from the road for outdoor and travel brands, glamping resorts, destination spas, etc for supplemental income and a creative outlet. This works out seamlessly as we typically venture to some of the most scenic and remote destinations in the west.
Headquartered in Seattle in the summers, I head south for the winter and spring to avoid the rainy and cold season and work from anywhere with Starlink 📡 as my internet source from our 4x4 Cabover camper, when we’re not staying at airbnbs or discounted hotels along the way (industry connections). This allows me to achieve full balance to satiate my thirst for adventure and travel while also working to continue investing, saving and building towards future goals.
Here are some essential tools that help me get the job done and stay connected from anywhere:
-Portable desk - @heytrip_official
-Internet from anywhere 📡- @starlink_satellites
- detachable laptop screens to increase productivity by 40% - dm me to receive a link 👩💻
- performance charge power bank - @r3di_official
- laptop bag - @fjallravenofficial Kunken
- battery bank - @jackeryusa
- the rig is setup with full solar and a generator as a backup if solar fails (have never been out of power (yet)
- cool transformer blanket that’s also a pillow - @coalatree
Follow along as we make our way to Baja and beyond this winter and I tackle some adventure objectives and projects to expand my business offerings into adventure travel tourism.
