Colorful Frozen Sensory Play
Hey momma, keep your kids from getting bored with just water and color. Grab some ice cube trays to prep for this “cool” sensory experience. We LOVE this activity, especially during summer when a little ice is refreshing from the heat. To add some education to this activity you can have your kids mix primary colors together (red, yellow, blue) to find out what colors they create. You could also talk about states of matter and have the kids watch as they ice turns from a solid to a liquid. My kids like it when I give them my kitchen supplies to play with during this activity. They come up with all sorts of things to do. Supplies: Ice cube trays Water Liquid food coloring or Food coloring Baking sheet (optional) Directions: Fill ice cube trays with water. Add a little bit of food coloring to each tray. Place the ice cube trays on a baking sheet and place in the freezer. Once the trays are frozen over they are ready to be played with. We like to make as many trays as we can to keep the activity going. You can also freeze colored water in small cups, silicone baking supplies, or other things you have in your kitchen to make different shapes and sizes.
