A young woman with her hair tied back is sitting on rocky rubble overlooking an ancient fortified castle and town by the sea. The sun is shining brightly, illuminating the white stone walls and towers of the castle that extend into the blue waters. The town's terracotta rooftops and whitewashed buildings can be seen in the background, creating a picturesque Mediterranean scene. The woman is wearing a white t-shirt and denim shorts, with her legs crossed as she gazes out at the breathtaking vista.

Looking over the castle and town of Methoni, in southern Greece. The town is beautifully preserved, a snapshot of a classic Greek town, and the castle has an incredible history of Venetian construction and Ottoman occupation (check my stories!). •• This is my “the sun’s in my eyes, I’ve been walking all day, also the doctor is about to tell me I have tonsillitis and that’s why I’m feeling rundown” face. On the plus side, the doctor’s visit in Greece cost 0 Euros, and the three total medications cost 14 Euros, so silver lining I guess. •• What do you do when you get sick on the road? I used to push through, but as I get older I realize it really just isn’t worth it most of the time. Push through and your body will most likely break down in worse ways later, so I’m in my hotel room well-fed, medicated, and resting right now. What would you do? . . . . .
