Back in LA, but glad I got the time to explore my beautiful #Athens with @discover.greece and @beagreek_athens before leaving! One of the reasons I always like having a local or tour guide take me through a city at least once is because you get to learn so much more about a place’s history and culture than you would otherwise. It’s easy to run through a city finding the tourist highlights and never really understanding their significance. Knowledgeable Athenian locals, like the guide from @beagreek_athens , took me to some of the most ancient spots (and best views) in central Athens, but also gave me the philosophical and historical context for everything I was seeing, a lot of which I didn’t know. I highly recommend taking at least one small tour, preferably run and organized by locals, everywhere you go. #SupportLocal . . . . .
