A young woman is standing alone on a cobblestone street that runs between two rows of historic brownstone buildings. The street is lined with trees that still have some fall foliage clinging to their bare branches. The buildings have ornate architectural details, including wrought iron railings and decorative stonework. The woman is wearing a long beige coat over a white sweater, along with black tights and knee-high boots. She has long dark hair and is walking confidently down the center of the quiet, picturesque street.

While it’s one of my biggest delights in life to explore new places, there’s something beautiful about returning to old, familiar places again and again. •• There are a few places in the world, some of which I have lived in - New York, Athens, London - that I love to experience repeatedly, exploring less prominent corners of them every time. And every time, I discover another perspective of the city, another layer, another story. •• It’s the difference between the thrill of a fling, the excitement of a new acquaintance bonded with over a couple of intense days of traveling, versus the joy of discovering the complexities, depth and surprises a partner or best friend may hold over years and years of knowing them. •• Every time I see another side of a city I know and love, I fall in love a little more, I feel a little more at ease there, it feels more and more like MY city. •• Just some Monday thoughts. To see some cool and under visited parts of Manhattan, check out my stories. What city do you like to visit again and again? . . . . .
