The image depicts a smiling young woman with long, wavy brown hair standing in an art gallery or exhibition space. She is wearing a sleeveless black dress and holding her hand on her hip in a confident pose. On the walls behind her are three large framed photographs or artworks. One appears to be a portrait of an elderly man with traditional tribal clothing and markings, likely from an African or indigenous culture. Another shows a close-up of a person's face covered in a bright orange or red veil or fabric. The third artwork features a desert landscape scene with a person on a camel in the foreground. The woman's joyful expression and the surrounding artworks suggest this is a celebratory moment, perhaps at the opening of her own art exhibition or photography showcase.

Thank you to everyone who came to my first solo show last night, it was one of the most incredible evenings of my life! If you can’t tell from the dorkiest smile ever in this photo. 📸: @john_kal •• Everyone in the world, but especially everyone who works in artistic fields, struggles with a sense of “not being good enough”. Not feeling ready for the next step in their career. Insecurity. Imposter syndrome. There are many words and phrases for it. •• So much of our material success in the arts relies on external validation, but while we’re seeking that, it’s important to feed our internal validation and creativity as well. •• I see my work - my acting, my writing, my photography - and always see how it could be better. Less frequently do I take notice of how much it has improved. •• So here’s to taking a moment to appreciate the wins. How far we’ve come. The milestones we’ve achieved so far. And remembering that while we’re dreaming of more and better in the future, we can also celebrate the beauty of the here and now, and always have faith in our own work and journey. •• How about a challenge this week: that next step in work, in life, in relationships, that you don’t feel 100% ready to take, go for, or worthy of yet? Do it anyway. Let me know what it is. . . . . . .
