A young woman with long, wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes gazes directly at the camera with a warm, friendly expression. Her features are accentuated by natural makeup, and she wears a red, off-the-shoulder top against a green, textured background, suggesting an outdoor or nature setting. Her hair is sun-kissed, with a few strands of grey or white hair visible, adding a touch of natural beauty and authenticity to her appearance.

It’s amazing how every time I upload a photo lately I get so many DMs about grey hairs. So I’m re-uploading to share some thoughts. •• I have some hairs that have turned entirely white/grey from top to bottom since I was in my early 20s. It’s a genetic thing, as my whole mom’s side went grey about the same age. •• I dye it for work - the entertainment industry frowns upon grey hair on women usually - but honestly don’t care much about it generally anymore. That’s why when I’m not working on set, as in now, I let it grow out a bit more before I dye it. As my hair lightens in the summer I actually kinda like the white hairs amongst the blonde and brown. •• Let’s stop internalizing and repeating all the crap messages we get about aging and appearance every day. Whether it’s grey hairs or fine lines. Do what you want - dye it, inject it, etc. - I’m all for everyone making their own choices. But there’s a difference between making your own decisions about your appearance to enhance your happiness, and loathing yourself and every “flaw” in your body because your self-acceptance hinges on whether you look 25 or 35. •• There’s a reason I upload make-up-less, non-FaceTuned photos like this here. I want to 1) normalize not looking like a filter 2) encourage being comfortable in our own skin. Because we can enjoy playing around and doing whatever we want to our appearance, while also not disdaining our natural state or freaking out because of our bodies’ natural changes. •• Don’t let your beauty become your prison. Enjoy your Sunday ❤️ . . . . . .
