In Oaxaca - needed the warmth. I generally find Mexico to be one of the most underrated destinations, while simultaneously being one of the most visited countries for US tourists.
••
A lot of people see Mexico as a land of coastal resorts, beautiful water, tacos, and occasional Mayan ruins. Mexican culture in the US has been so heavily filtered and stereotyped that we end up with an incredibly one dimensional view of what Mexico is.
••
But the cities, towns, culture, cuisine, and beauty of Mexico is so much deeper, so incredibly different depending on where you find yourself in the country, and this is fully on display as I walk around Oaxaca.
••
Expect a lot of stories on food, mezcal, and how businesses and brands can actually help (what? yes!) the local community if they do the work. Thanks to @mezcalamaras and @matadornetwork for this incredible trip.
