Take time to truly pay attention and you’ll find yourself experiencing the richness to life 😌
I feel like all too often we lose some part, or a great deal, of our ability to notice and appreciate things as we get older and are caught up in the whirlwind of day to day life. There are ways we can be more present though and notice more of what’s going on around us and the richness of life. There are two things that have really shifted my ability to notice and experience things on a deeper level. The first being photography—from the moment I picked up a camera, I’ve noticed and truly seen so much more of the world around me. Watched the colors of the world more closely and appreciated nature so much more. Even seeing the simple way light can illuminate a scene brings me so much joy. The second thing, is fatherhood. More specifically being around a young, unfiltered mind and experiencing the world through their eyes. It’s been such an incredible reminder of how exciting life can be, and how there’s so much to appreciate even in simple moments.
And while I’m not trying to convince you to pick up a camera, or become a parent, finding something you can enjoy doing that helps you be more present and actually SEE more of the world around you, along with finding ways to experience the world from an unfiltered perspective—whether that be though spending time with young minds or truly embracing your own inner child—is truly one of the most invaluable things you can do for yourself. Embrace everything from the littlest moments to the most thrilling events, soak in all in.🤍
