Jessie on a Journey
A young woman is walking down a narrow alleyway lined with old, multi-story buildings in warm tones of red, orange, and beige. The buildings have intricate architectural details, with archways, balconies, and decorative elements. The woman is wearing a pink off-the-shoulder top, denim shorts, and sunglasses, carrying a green bag slung over her shoulder. The alleyway is paved with bricks, and a few potted plants can be seen adorning some of the buildings, adding a touch of greenery to the charming scene.

The Evolution of Travel Preferences

Raise your hand if you've ever felt like the magic of traveling was wearing off 🙋‍♀️ ___ It's a weird feeling that I'll admit I've gone through. When I was in my early and mid 20s, I traveled nonstop and never missed home. As I got older, the appeal of this started to fade as I craved the comfort of own bed and some semblance of routine. ___ For a while I wondered if I even still liked to travel; though what I ultimately realized is travel styles change. Sometimes it's not that you don't like to travel anymore, but that the *way* you were traveling just doesn't suit you. ___ I've come to terms with the fact that being away from home for more than 10 days isn't enjoyable for me anymore. Instead, I like to do 5-10 days per trip, once every month or two. Am I less adventurous? Not at all. I'm just changing, like we all do, and realizing that I genuinely find happiness being in NYC with my family and friends. And that's okay with me 🤗
