Must-Do Activities for Fulfilling Travel

What's one activity you do in *every single* city you visit? ___ Today I want to piggyback on my Instagram share from yesterday where I talked about how sometimes we can start to feel like we don't like travel anymore, but that maybe what's necessary is a change in travel style. ___ Over the years, I've realized that I don't need to do everything, nor do I need to do what the guidebooks tell me to do -- hence my own branded hashtag of #beyondtheguidebook. I've realized that to feel satisfied on a trip I don't need to go to do the "musts". Instead, I have my list of things I do in every city that make me feel happy. Some of these include: *Wandering around with my camera in a beautiful park *Taking a local yoga or cultural class *Doing at least one bike ride or hike *Spending an afternoon in a tasty, cozy coffee shop *Trying the local ice cream *Finding a place where I can take one aerial photograph *Finding an interesting neighborhood to wander without a plan to make organic discoveries *Doing at least one walking or biking tour led by a local ___ For me, realizing I didn't need to do what everyone else was doing to feel fulfilled by a trip was a huge relief. I didn't become a travel blogger because I'm the type of person who follows societies rules, and I'm certainly not going to allow a top 10 list to tell me what I need to do in a city 😉 ___ Photo taken in Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
