Stunning Camden Hills State Park Hike

What is your favorite park for beautiful views?⁠ ✨⁠ When traveling Maine, everyone always talks about how stunning Acadia National Park is. And it absolutely is; but I think more people also need to talk about the beauty of Camden Hills State Park.⁠ ⛰️⁠ The photos below were taken while hiking the park's Maiden Cliff Trail. Not only is the trail full of gorgeous views, but it also has a crazy (and sad) backstory.⁠ 🥺⁠ Out of frame, there is actually a giant cross on the cliff, which was erected in memory of a 12-year old girl named Elenora French, who fell to her death from the cliff. It is said that she was up there when her hat blew off and she chased it, falling in the process.⁠ 😔⁠ From this cliff, there are many outcroppings to sit on to enjoy views of Megunticook Lake and its islands and surrounding peaks. ❤️ #BeyondTheGuidebook⁠
