Secluded Jungle Retreat at La Mariposa Eco Lodge

Where is your favorite jungle retreat? ___ In all honesty, La Mariposa Spanish School & Eco Lodge was only a 5-minute walk to the nearest town, but tucked away in secluded patch of jungle lush with banana trees, colorful birds and coffee plants (which went into the very coffee I drank every morning). While I punch my pillow in frustration every time a honking car wakes me up at 6am in NYc, at La Mariposa the sounds of monkeys and parakeets early in the morning were music to my ears. ___ Actually, I woke up so much earlier naturally there, which often happens when I'm immersing myself in a natural setting. After a vegetarian breakfast, it was on to four hours of one-on-one Spanish practice, something I'm desperately trying to retain now back home! ___ Currently reading: Jorge el curioso visita el acuario 😉
