Overcrowded Nusa Penida
The place I enjoyed the least in Bali
🫤
I hate saying negative things about the places I visit. Many times, what one person thinks is uninteresting someone else may love.
❤️
But I have to say: Nusa Penida, while beautiful, was so overcrowded it was nearly impossible to enjoy (as you'll see if you swipe right 👉 to photo 4). The places I visited were:
😇
Angels Billabong & Broken Beach ▶️ While it’s beautiful, there are way too many people here. If I came again, I’d quickly do the photo walk and then chill at one of the cafes overlooking the water with a cold beer instead.
🌴
Kelingking Beach (pictured here) ▶️ The view over the white sandy beach and the T-Rex-shaped coastline jutting out into the Indian Ocean is gorgeous; but again, the lookout is very crowded. If you have the time, it’s about an hour round-trip to walk down to the beach — which is pristine and actually not crowded at all.
🌊
Crystal Bay ▶️ This dream beach features soft sand, turquoise waters, and gorgeous rock formations that make for beautiful photos. While it’s crowded, there is enough sand to spread out a bit easier. This was my favorite stop on our tour of Nusa Penida’s West Coast!
🏖️
If you do visit, I recommend trying to explore early in the morning and later in the day, when the day trippers leave to head back to mainland Bali. This way, you can have some peace in these beautiful places.
