Jessie on a Journey
A joyful group of adventurous women, dressed in vibrant colors and protective headgear, are captured in a candid moment on their mountain bikes amidst the vast, arid landscape of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. They appear to be taking a break from cycling, with one woman smiling broadly and playfully sticking out her tongue, while others look on with cheerful expressions. Their bicycles are nearby, resting on the sandy, rocky terrain that stretches out endlessly under the expansive sky. Despite the challenging environment, the women exude a sense of camaraderie, resilience, and the thrill of outdoor exploration.

Mountain Biking the Gobi Desert

Biking Mongolia's Gobi Desert 🚴‍♀️ While in NYC you have to watch for cars, in the Gobi you have to watch for DUST STORMS! 😮 It definitely took some getting used to, but after a day or so I finally felt confident biking over sand & loose rock. 💪 Until another challenge came my way, literally, as I realized I was cycling straight into a dark swirling cloud of debris that was heading my way! 😰 Along with the other @WhoaTravel ladies, we quickly cycled off the road, got low to the ground, faced away, and put our shirts over our faces to protect ourselves. Luckily, it blew over pretty quickly. 😷 It was definitely something I had never experienced before on all my biking adventures; but apparently happens quite a bit in the Gobi, where dry and arid conditions along with vast stretches of barren land and exposed soil make it susceptible. 🐪 Have you ever experienced a dust storm?
