How pretty is this Ancient Grains Tart from Duchess Bake Shop in Edmonton? I actually took an Uber 20 minutes just for this bakery because I’d heard the macaroons were so amazing, but this gorgeous treat was just too beautiful not to order. It was tasty, too, filled with almond frangipane and almond cream and gowned in fresh market plums, ancient grain crumb, violets and marigolds. The whimsical pastry matched the whimsical French cafe atmosphere which, paired with the strong coffee, had me hanging out there for hours. What’s your favorite Edmonton sweet shop?
