Jessie on a Journey
A large crowd of people is gathered on a street at night, holding up candles and banners. The crowd stretches back as far as the eye can see, illuminated by the warm glow of the candles. In the background, a massive building facade is covered in a vast array of text and images, forming a striking visual tapestry. The text appears to be a collection of quotes, names, and historical references, creating a powerful and evocative backdrop for the peaceful demonstration. The scene conveys a sense of unity, remembrance, and the power of peaceful protest.

Leipzig's Peaceful Revolution 25th Anniversary

Today is the 25th anniversary of the #PeacefulRevolution in #Leipzig , #Germany. This peaceful protest attracted 70,000 people to speak out without violence against the #BerlinWall . Shockingly, the 7,000 armed Stasi present did not open fire. This ended up being a major turning point for Germany, leading to the fall of the Berlin Wall, a true #democracy and the reunification of the country. Tonight I went to the Festival of Lights Celebration and did the same walk the protesters did 25 years ago. The streets were full of people holding candles and banners, and art, light and sound installations encouraging thoughts and remembrance. It was truly an #amazing night!
