Jessie on a Journey
The image depicts a picturesque residential block in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. The prominent feature is a series of colorfully painted row houses with intricate architectural details. One building stands out with its vibrant blue and yellow hues, adorned with decorative chevron patterns along the roofline and windows. On the lower level, an eye-catching mural covers an entire wall, portraying an Egyptian-inspired scene with pyramids and hieroglyphic symbols in shades of blue, orange, and yellow. The mural adds a touch of artistic flair and cultural influence to the historic streetscape. Despite the urban setting, the scene exudes a charming, old-world ambiance, with bare trees lining the sidewalk and a few outdoor cafe chairs scattered along the storefronts.

Historic Bushwick Block with Egyptian Mural

A little bit of #Egypt in #Brooklyn for you. Here I am on an @nycphotosafaris tour wandering down one of the more historic -- and picturesque -- blocks in Bushwick. Not in frame, but across the street is a German beer baron mansion from the 1800s sitting gorgeously (and ironically) next to a KFC. There's truly so much history to be explored in Bushwick, especially when it comes to beer. What's your favorite historic hood in NYC?
