Jessie on a Journey
A majestic stone Buddha statue sits peacefully amidst lush greenery and ancient architectural ruins in what appears to be a temple complex nestled in the mountains of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Buddha figure, intricately carved and adorned with delicate details, exudes a sense of serenity and timelessness. The surrounding foliage, a vibrant tapestry of greens, yellows, and pinks, creates a serene and natural setting. In the background, crumbling stone structures and statues hint at the rich cultural heritage and history of this sacred site. A small palm tree in the foreground adds a touch of tropical charm. The overall scene is a breathtaking fusion of spiritual tranquility and natural beauty.

Hiking Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai

One of the most memorable experiences of my #ChiangMai, #Thailand trip was hiking up Doi Suthep, a mountain with two peaks, one 1,676 meters and one 1,685 meters. The hike takes about 3 hours round trip, though it's enjoyable to stop about halfway and enjoy some snacks and water at Wat Pha Lat (pictured above), a temple overlooking the city where you sit above a waterfall on giant rock slabs. At the top there are many cheap options for a tasty Thai lunch and fresh fruit, as well as another beautiful temple and public transport if you don't feel like trekking back down. The #hike is a great workout that's challenging, but not impossible for anyone in decent shape, and awards stunning aerial #views of Chiang Mai.
