Authentic Jordanian Mansaf at Tanoreen in Brooklyn

At Tanoreen in #Brooklyn last night I was taken on a culinary journey to the Middle East. For the main course I had Mansaf -- which I fondly remember eating in #Jordan, where it is the national dish. The meal features tender slices of lamb cooked in a fermented dried yogurt (jameed) broth, rice, fried chunks of pita, almonds and pine nuts. The flavors are enhanced by spices like allspice, clove, and cumin.
