Visit the Red Mosque of Sri Lanka
Welcome to 📍Jami Ul-Alfar Masjid, the Red Mosque of Sri Lanka ❤️✨
Sri Lanka continues to amaze me and this mosque stunned me with its unconventional yet majestic design!
Our guide explained the colors of the mosque were inspired by the two colors of the pomegranate fruit - red and white - because that fruit is mentioned in the holy Quran as the fruit of paradise.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO VISIT (📌 hit ‘save’ to your Sri Lanka folder 😉)⤵️
The visiting hours were a bit confusing to be honest, one sign said 9:00 AM and the other 10:30 AM. I found out that you can visit but only with a local guide, he seems to be there daily by 10 AM and offers the short tour around the mosque at 11:00 AM. If you want to arrange to go earlier in the morning/privately, go there around 10:45 AM the day before to talk to the guide and arrange this. By the way, the tour is free but donations are encouraged 🥰
So tell me, have I convinced you to add this to your bucket list?
