🚆 Day trip idea from Tokyo, Japan! Make sure to save this post for your next visit.
♨️ Explore the beautiful Sainokawara Park, just a 3-hour train and bus journey away. I suggest staying at Kusatsu overnight and starting your morning with a visit to the park.
🍃 Sainokawara Park is free to roam around and only a 5 minute walk from the Yubatake (center of Kusatsu Onsen). Stroll around the park, have a picnic, enjoy foot spas in the hot spring ponds. In the month of October/November, this turns into the most beautiful fall foliage. Also, check it out at night time, the park is illuminated! 😍
🧖♀️ If you want to do the open-air bath (highly recommend) — here are some things to keep in mind:
- This is the only part of the park that requires an admission fee. (700¥ for adults)
- Open daily from 7am-8pm from April to November & 9am-8pm from December to March
- The further back you go, the hotter the water is going to be.
- Men and Women separated / No clothing allowed except when its co-ed (the male open-air bath becomes a co-ed bath on Friday night from 5:30pm-8 pm and swimsuit is required.)
- Bring your own face/bath towel. Also, available for purchase.
